Time is the new armchair by Alias, designed by Alfredo Häberli, inspired by the ancient art of origami. Time aims to transform a simple two-dimensional sheet, made from a wood and composites sandwich, into a three-dimensional shell. Flexible and resistant, thanks to avant-garde techniques borrowed from the production of snowboards, the shell is supported by a minimal metal frame. Finally, a cushion element rests on the seat to increase comfort without changing the accurate ergonomics. Time has been awarded with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2020.
