Francesco Meda designs a new functional, modular and flexible system. Inspired by the Cartesian coordinates, every kitchen accessory finds its place while remaining at hand through a rail system of X an Y axes. The XY system develops both vertically and horizontally by means of several extruded aluminium profiles. At the heart of the project is a central equippable column that welcomes compartment units such as knife holders, cutting boards, spice and condiment containers, compartments for electrical outlets, fume extraction hood, dish drainer and many more. Even the aluminium profiles that make this furnishing element can welcome several sliding accessories, besides a wooden 130cm x 130cm top, which can serve as a table during informal occasions. On the same column strut elements can develop vertically to support a system of aluminium shelves, available in many finishes, namely wood or stainless steel. The shelves placed at the bottom have room acquired by the extrusion, enabling the addition of a LED lighting.
