Socrate is a low-level storage unit by Caimi Brevetti, part of a line of versatile space organisers by the same name. Since the 2014 Salone del Mobile, Milan, this series now includes a new piece with painted steel fronts, available in various colours: three basic colours, all with a matt warm hue (red, blue or turquoise, yellow), two intermediate colours (green and orange) and two natural colours inspired by earth and stone tones (sand and grey) and white and black. Socrate can be purchased both as a bookcase and as a storage unit (image above). Socrate comes in different shapes and sizes, making it a piece suitable for either private homes, office environments or commercial premises. The bookcase from this range has a backing made from micro-pore metal sheeting, shelves in same material designed to keep books ventilated, avoiding dust deposits. Each shelve is fitted with a tab which slots directly into the struts without the need of additional support. This design component guarantees easy assembly, adjustable shelves and a safe and stable structure.
