Wan Statuette
Wood
Setsu & Shinobu Ito
WAN is a sculptural furnishing accessory made of solid scented cedar wood, carved from a single block and shaped with great precision. The project, signed by Setsu & Shinobu Ito, is inspired by the figure of a Maltese breed dog, reinterpreted through essential and soft shapes that enhance the tactile and natural character of the material. The monolithic processing highlights the continuity of the material and emphasizes the grain of the cedar, amplifying its sensory and visual value. WAN is halfway between a decorative object and a small domestic sculpture, capable of discreetly fitting into contemporary environments, residential spaces, or representative contexts. The natural scent of the wood helps to strengthen the perceptual experience, making the object not only visually recognizable but also intimately linked to the well-being of the environment. A project that combines design, craftsmanship, and material sensitivity in a refined and timeless language. Riva1920 is an Italian company specialized in the processing of solid wood, recognized for sustainable production, artisanal excellence, and collaborations with internationally renowned designers and architects.
